[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Engineering plastics manufacturer Espolitech announced on the 26th that it has successfully developed a double-layer corrugated polycarbonate material product called 'Skylite Curve (SKYLITE CURVE)', completed the patent application, and started sales.
Espolitech's 'Skylite Curve' is a double-layer corrugated product manufactured by co-extrusion of the existing single-layer corrugated sheet. The co-extrusion method enhances chemical resistance and weather resistance, improving the yellowing phenomenon of existing PC products. It shows high durability against external environments such as sunlight, moisture, and ammonia gas, allowing the existing form to be maintained for a long time. While maintaining transmittance, the double-layer structure forms an air layer, improving insulation and providing energy-saving effects.
The 'Skylite Curve', which replicates the waveform of existing products, can be used in conjunction with color steel plates, foam panels, and others. It has the advantage of being installable without significant structural changes even in places where existing products are already installed, and it is expected to be used in various locations such as roofs of livestock barns, connecting corridors, factories, and logistics warehouses.
Espolitech's Skylite Curve offers various product designs including 'V-115', 'V-250', and 'C-63'. The design application for 'V-250' has been registered, and the design applications for 'V-115' and 'C-63' have also been completed. The patent application was also completed in early January.
An Espolitech official stated, "Skylite Curve, which has superior weather resistance and chemical resistance compared to existing products, is attracting market interest and supply inquiries are continuously coming in. We continue steady sales of high value-added products such as flame-retardant PC for aircraft and light guide plates for 8K TVs, and we are also focusing on new market penetration based on new product development."
