[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Dongyang Life Insurance announced on the 25th that it signed a business agreement for social contribution projects to enhance the treatment will of pediatric cancer patients with the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation at Dongyang Life Insurance headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and delivered about 200 million KRW in social contribution funds.


Since 2012, Dongyang Life Insurance has been steadily carrying out activities such as supporting treatment expenses for children with pediatric cancer and the Hope Starlight campaign to improve awareness of pediatric cancer in cooperation with the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation, to encourage the treatment will of patients and their families suffering from pediatric cancer and to improve the welfare of children and adolescents.


This year, Dongyang Life Insurance plans to support pediatric cancer patients and their families in various ways so that they can fully focus on treatment. In addition to supporting pediatric cancer treatment expenses, it will provide scholarships to help survivors return to society in good health, and furthermore, it will carry out various pediatric cancer awareness improvement campaigns such as Hope Starlight and the Pediatric Cancer Children's Dream Contest to help the public have a correct understanding of pediatric cancer.


Over the past three years, Dongyang Life Insurance has paid about 17.5 billion KRW in insurance benefits for a total of 1,490 cases of leukemia and pediatric cancer-related diseases among child insurance subscribers.


A Dongyang Life Insurance official said, "We will make further efforts as a 'guardian angel protecting customers' health and happiness' so that pediatric cancer patients can recover as soon as possible."
