[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that it will hold an ‘Onnuri Gift Certificate Payback Event’ as a consumption promotion event to revitalize Deoksan Market, which is struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The county will hold this event targeting Deoksan Market and surrounding stores until February 9.

Regardless of business type, consumers who use Deoksan Market and stores such as restaurants, beauty salons, and retail businesses can submit receipts totaling 50,000 won or more on the same day to receive 5,000 won in Onnuri gift certificates back. However, Nonghyup and large discount stores are excluded from the target.

Specifically, 5,000 won in gift certificates will be given for every 50,000 won in receipts per person per day, and if receipts totaling 300,000 won or more are submitted, a maximum of 30,000 won (six 5,000-won certificates) per person per day can be refunded.

However, simplified receipts are not accepted, and the store must be able to issue receipts such as credit card, cash receipt, or Zero Pay affiliated stores.

Gift certificates can be exchanged after verifying the same-day purchase receipts at ‘Baker Jin’ and ‘Jirisan Yujeongran’ within Deoksan Market, and the event may end early depending on the exhaustion of gift certificates.

A county official said, “We hope this consumption promotion event will help local small business owners who are struggling due to weakened consumer sentiment and decreased sales, even if only a little,” and urged “We ask for active participation from traditional market sister institutions as well as related organizations, social groups, and local residents in the area.”
