Gimhae City Accelerates Creation of Women-Friendly City ... 150 Million KRW Invested in Gender Equality Fund

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam is accelerating efforts to create a women-friendly city.

The city is investing 150 million KRW from the Gender Equality Fund to promote gender equality, enhance women's rights, and expand women's social participation by calling for proposals for gender equality fund projects that foster a citizen-consensus women-friendly city.

The call for proposals covers areas such as village community projects, gender governance, enhancement of community safety, creation of family-friendly environments, and expansion of women's economic and social participation.

Support targets and amounts will be determined by reviewing project execution capability, project suitability, expected outcomes, and budget appropriateness for each project.

Eligible applicants include non-profit corporations and private organizations located in Gimhae City, as well as universities, research institutes, and lifelong education institutions conducting gender equality projects or research.

A city official stated, “We hope for active participation and interest with diverse and innovative ideas to promote the realization of gender equality, support women's growth, and enable the community to develop together.”
