[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sun-hee] Sarah Sanders, who served as White House Press Secretary during former U.S. President Donald Trump's administration, is reportedly planning to run for governor of Arkansas, according to local media.
According to local media on the 25th, Sanders is expected to run as the Republican candidate in the Arkansas gubernatorial election scheduled for November next year. She is also the daughter of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.
Sanders, 38 years old this year, served as White House Press Secretary for about two years from July 2017 to June 2019 during the early Trump administration. She was considered one of the most loyal aides to former President Trump. After retiring, she worked as a political commentator for Fox News in the U.S.
Local sources reported that Sanders plans to announce her candidacy soon through a video message.
