[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced that from the 25th to February 7th, a special event will be held for 14 days to ease the disappointment of those who could not plan trips due to COVID-19.
Participants in the event will receive a gift package called "SoBokSoBok Hope Box," symbolizing blessings for safe travel in the Year of the Ox.
To participate, follow Gyeongbuk Nadri on Instagram, then choose one of the 23 recommended winter non-face-to-face travel destinations in Gyeongbuk that you want to visit. Tag one person you want to go with once COVID-19 subsides and leave a comment explaining why you want to visit.
The Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Organization will select 50 comments and provide a gift package to a total of 100 people, including the tagged individuals. The package includes a safety travel quarantine kit (5 KF94 masks, a mask necklace, hand sanitizer), a festival calendar, calligraphy candles, and a 30,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificate.
This event actively reflects recent trends of communication through SNS, allowing users to select their desired travel destination on Instagram and leave comments about their reasons and stories of the person they want to go with, thus enabling SNS users to create content.
Kim Sang-cheol, Director of the Culture, Tourism, and Sports Bureau of Gyeongsangbuk-do, said, "This event is held with the intention of delivering a hopeful message to overcome COVID-19 and travel safely, as well as introducing 23 winter travel destinations in Gyeongbuk. We hope many people participate in the event to learn about Gyeongbuk's tourist spots and receive generous gifts."
