Yeonggwang-gun Hosts 'Regulatory Innovation Idea Contest'

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it will hold a ‘Regulatory Innovation Idea Contest’ from the 25th to March 15, where residents can directly propose and improve regulations.

This contest includes regulations covering five areas: ▲daily life ▲public welfare ▲small business owners and enterprises ▲employment and jobs ▲new industries, encompassing residents' daily life and overall regional economic activities, and multiple entries in different categories are allowed.

However, simple complaints or opinions already submitted are excluded.

Anyone, including residents, small business owners, and small and medium enterprises, can participate. Detailed information can be found on the county website, and submission forms can be downloaded and submitted via registered mail or email.

Submitted proposals will be reviewed by the ‘Yeonggwang-gun Regulatory Reform Committee,’ which will select 10 outstanding projects and award prize money in Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificates in April.

The awards are ▲Grand Prize 1 person (300,000 KRW) ▲Excellence 3 persons (200,000 KRW each) ▲Encouragement 6 persons (100,000 KRW each) ▲Participation reward (10,000 KRW each).

For the selected regulatory innovation ideas, plans are in place to promptly promote regulatory improvements by proposing amendments to higher laws or revising local ordinances.

Since the second half of last year, the county has been receiving direct proposals from residents regarding difficulties caused by regulations in daily life and has been working on improvements through interdepartmental collaboration and proposals to central government ministries.

Additionally, the county operates a visiting local regulatory reporting center, including this contest, and has established a resident regulatory verification request window on the county website, striving to listen to residents’ voices and resolve regulatory difficulties.

County Governor Kim Junsung said, “This contest is an opportunity to hear the vivid and urgent voices of residents directly. We will do our best to discover regulatory difficulties that residents can empathize with across various fields and sectors,” and added, “We ask for the active interest and participation of residents.”
