Scheduled Contracts and Construction in February
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam, will carry out reconstruction work to alleviate vehicle congestion and ensure safety around the Yangsan Bridge area.
The city announced on the 25th that it plans to start reconstruction work on the Yangsan Bridge, which is currently operating with 4 lanes but has 2 lanes closed due to aging, in February and complete it by the first half of 2024.
This project involves reconstructing 190 meters of the Yangsan Bridge and improving the connecting roads to restore it to 6 lanes.
It is expected that vehicle congestion will be alleviated and safety secured upon opening.
During construction, the city plans to install a temporary bridge with 4 lanes for smooth two-way traffic flow.
Some traffic inconvenience is expected, but citizens' understanding is needed for the improvement of the traffic environment.
Mayor Kim Il-kwon said, “The reconstruction of Yangsan Bridge will not only resolve traffic congestion in the city center and industrial complex areas but also greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy in the long term when National Route 60 opens.”
