Samsung Bioepis Completes Move into New Incheon Songdo Headquarters... "Global Forward Base"

[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jung] Samsung Bioepis (CEO Go Han-seung) has completed moving into its integrated new headquarters building constructed in Songdo International City, Incheon, and began full-scale operations from the 25th.

Samsung Bioepis built the new headquarters, a 12-story above-ground and 1-story underground building on a site of 12,900 pyeong within the Songdo Bio Cluster, capable of accommodating up to 1,300 employees, from June 2017 to December last year. The construction was undertaken by Samsung C&T Corporation’s construction division.

By moving into the new headquarters, Samsung Bioepis plans to enhance corporate competitiveness based on facilities and work infrastructure specialized in biopharmaceutical research and development, and to strengthen communication and work efficiency within the organization by integrating the previously split business sites in Songdo and Suwon.

From the design stage of the headquarters, Samsung Bioepis reflected the diverse needs of its employees. The main building, spanning 12 floors, includes laboratories, offices, training rooms, and a counseling center, while the welfare building connected to the main building, with 3 floors, houses a cafeteria and fitness center for employee convenience and health management.

Additionally, a separate 2-story building was constructed for an in-house daycare center, significantly expanding the enrollment capacity to support employees balancing childcare. Shuttle bus services connecting Seoul and the metropolitan area have been implemented to strengthen welfare systems aimed at improving employees’ working environments.
