LG Electronics, New Trio of Kitchen Appliances... 'Staying Home' Changes the Kitchen

The rapid increase in sales of new kitchen appliances such as dishwashers, electric ranges, and microwave ovens is also changing the kitchen landscape.

According to LG Electronics on the 25th, sales of the LG Dios Dishwasher Steam nearly tripled last year compared to the previous year, and sales of the Dios 3-burner electric range also increased by 40% year-on-year. LG Electronics' new kitchen appliances are capturing consumers' hearts with differentiated performance and convenience. Reflecting the trend of growing interest in interior design, the dishwasher and microwave oven have also been released as part of the LG Objet Collection, a space interior appliance line, gaining popularity.

Ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, LG Electronics is offering generous benefits to customers purchasing new kitchen appliances. When purchasing an electric range or microwave oven at LG Electronics Best Shop, customers can receive cashback worth up to 100,000 KRW and 80,000 KRW respectively. Customers who purchase three or more LG Objet Collection products, including dishwashers, will receive membership points or mobile gift certificates worth up to 2 million KRW depending on the number of products purchased.

The LG Dios Dishwasher Steam has been recognized for its significantly enhanced cleaning power, hygiene, and convenience, contributing to expanding the domestic dishwasher market. LG Electronics, together with Professor Ji-hyun Lee's team from the Sensory Science Laboratory at Pusan National University, has proven that this product's cleaning power is about 26% better than hand dishwashing.

The Dios dishwasher, which uses 'TrueSteam' made by boiling water at 100℃, has recently been acknowledged by several professional institutions for its sterilization performance, removing 99.999% of 13 types of bacteria and viruses, including food poisoning pathogens such as norovirus and Clostridium perfringens.

The LG Dios electric range boasts differentiated heating power and industry-leading safety. It features a plug-type single burner induction cooktop with the highest domestic power of 3,300 watts, enhancing the taste of food. Additionally, it is safe as users can turn off the power and reduce the heat of the Dios electric range anytime and anywhere via the LG ThinQ app on their smartphones. The Miradur top plate, which is resistant to scratches, is another advantage.

The LG Dios microwave oven, which finds the optimal cooking method, is also recognized as a representative home-stay appliance and continues to gain steady popularity. Its differentiated 'AI Cook' function allows users to simply scan the barcode on 63 types of ready meals from CJ, Pulmuone, and Dongwon using the camera of the LG ThinQ app linked to the product, and the microwave oven automatically finds the optimal cooking method.

This product uses triple microwave cooking with three heat sources to preserve the texture of food. According to experiments conducted by Professor Soo-yong Lee's research team from the Department of Food Engineering at Sejong University, thin-skinned dumplings and burritos cooked with the Dios microwave oven were about three times and two times crispier, respectively, compared to those cooked with the Dios microwave. They were also browned 13% and 8.8% more, enhancing the texture.
