26 Selected Companies' Representative Cosmetics Offered at Discounted Prices
Purchase on Company Websites and Shopping Malls ... Free Participation and Review Event
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City will hold the ‘2021 B-beauty Day,’ a five-day online event from the 25th to the 29th to promote and sell local cosmetics and beauty products.
The event is hosted by the city and co-organized by Busan Technopark and the Busan Cosmetics Industry Association. This event, designed to raise awareness of local cosmetics brands and open new sales channels, is being held online for the second time following last November due to COVID-19.
‘B-beauty Day’ plans to continuously enhance on-site accessibility to high-quality Busan cosmetics content, but will also conduct online promotion and sales in preparation for COVID-19.
Through the event website, customers can purchase cosmetics, including representative products from 26 companies selected through a public contest, at discounted prices on each company’s website or their own online shopping malls.
The event will also offer opportunities for visitors to the event site to participate in events open to all customers and for winners of excellent product review events to experience Busan cosmetics.
The cosmetics industry in Busan has been growing steadily, with the number of related companies increasing from 406 (excluding duplicate companies) in 2019 to 726 in 2020. It has established itself as a new growth engine for Busan through quality job creation and export industry development.
Companies are rapidly adapting by upgrading their websites and combining offline methods such as on-site and door-to-door sales with online promotion and sales to prepare for the post-COVID era, signaling continuous future growth.
Byun Sung-wan, Acting Mayor of Busan, said, “Busan is an optimal city for the cosmetics industry in terms of the increase in the number of companies, the establishment and operation of cosmetics factories, and workforce development infrastructure,” adding, “We will nurture brands and companies representing Busan through support for enterprises.”
