[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Gmarket and Auction, operated by eBay Korea, will hold a "Seol Big Sale" promotion for two weeks until the 7th of next month ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. They will offer discounts on approximately 87 million products and provide discount coupons worth up to 3.64 million KRW.

On the 25th, eBay Korea announced that reflecting the increased demand for ontact (online + contactless) shopping since the outbreak of COVID-19, they have significantly expanded the number of products and discount benefits. This event, involving about 7,000 sellers, features a total of 87 million products, including items linked with major domestic department stores such as Lotte, Shinsegae, Hyundai, Galleria, and AK, as well as major home shopping channels. Customers can conveniently purchase traditional market products, popular department store items, and fresh products produced at the source through Gmarket and Auction.

There are also coupon benefits. Gmarket and Auction provide all members with three types of event-exclusive coupons once daily. These include two coupons offering 15% discounts with maximum discounts of 50,000 KRW and 10,000 KRW depending on the purchase price, and one Smile Delivery exclusive coupon offering up to 5,000 KRW off. Premium membership "Smile Club" members receive an additional 20% discount coupon. Collecting all coupon benefits provided to Smile Club members offers up to 130,000 KRW per site daily, totaling 260,000 KRW in benefits. Using all coupons during the event period can yield benefits worth up to 3.64 million KRW.

For two days until the 26th, purchasing products from all categories with a Smile Card before the Seol Big Sale grants a 10% discount. For purchases over 30,000 KRW, discounts up to 10,000 KRW apply. Gmarket offers instant discounts, while Auction provides overlapping discount coupons once daily for two days. Until the end of the event, Gmarket and Auction will each offer discount coupons for two major card companies (KB Kookmin and Samsung) registered with Smile Pay. These apply to beauty and health product categories and offer up to 3,000 KRW off with a 10% discount coupon. Additionally, Gmarket separately provides 10% discount coupons applicable to fresh food products for four major card companies (Hyundai, KB Kookmin, Woori, and Hana NH).
