Providing tailored emergency care services for seniors aged 65 and over, disabled individuals, and middle-aged households... Dedicated 'Care Support Team' established... From the second half of the year, ▲26 personnel including nurses and care managers deployed to 15 community centers... Existing services expanded to 8 types including ▲accompaniment support ▲housing convenience support ▲health care ▲well-being checks
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is set to fully expand the 'Care SOS Center' project for households struggling with family care due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic or experiencing urgent care gaps.
The 'Care SOS Center' is a one-stop integrated care service window where care managers visit vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled who have no one to care for them in emergencies like accidents or illnesses, providing tailored services.
Through a pilot operation last year, the district provided ▲temporary home care services to 86 people (2,916 hours) ▲meal support services to 131 people (1,716 meals), and guided 154 general residents about care systems, serving as a community care hub.
In particular, this year, to promote systematic project implementation, a dedicated organization called the 'Care Support Team' was established. Along with the existing four major services?▲temporary home care ▲short-term facility admission ▲meal support ▲information counseling?the center plans to offer eight major services including ▲accompaniment support ▲residential convenience support ▲health care ▲and safety checks.
Additionally, the district plans to assign 26 dedicated personnel, including nurses and care managers, to 15 community service centers by the second half of this year to actively identify eligible recipients.
Meanwhile, last year, the district signed business agreements with five local care service providers, including Sangdo Home Care Welfare Center and Donggwang Senior Welfare Center, establishing an 'integrated care system.'
For more details, contact the Welfare Policy Division of Dongjak-gu Office.
Park Miyoung, head of the Welfare Policy Division, stated, “Through this full-scale implementation, we will do our best to make the Care SOS Center the first responder to households experiencing care gaps.”
