Dobong-gu 'Social Economy' Online Education

Created separately for youth and residents as age-specific educational materials... Courses registered on Seoul Lifelong Learning Portal available for free to everyone

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is producing and operating online educational videos to provide social economy education opportunities for residents who cannot participate in face-to-face education due to COVID-19.

This education is a basic course that makes the difficult concept of "social economy" easy for anyone to understand. The videos are divided into youth and residents according to the target audience, allowing them to be used as customized educational materials.

In addition, the program covers topics such as ▲the background of the birth of the social economy ▲the definition of social economy enterprises ▲social economy encountered in Dobong-gu, while introducing cases of social economy in Dobong-gu to help understand both theory and practice simultaneously.

In particular, this educational video includes interviews with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education School Cooperative Support Center (Director Isu Jang) and the social enterprise Big Issue Korea, designed to increase interest in the social economy.

Dobong-gu plans to distribute this video to middle and high schools in the region to assist youth education and open courses on the Seoul Lifelong Learning Portal so that anyone can watch them for free.

The education period is until December 31 of this year, and the educational videos can be viewed on PC and mobile after registering on the Seoul Lifelong Learning Portal.

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu said, "The social economy is an important direction for our society that we can reconsider during this time when the economy has frozen due to COVID-19," and added, "I hope that the warm social economy values, which aim low and close, will take deeper root in Dobong-gu through this education."
