Two 50s Chinese-Korean Residents Arrested for Killing Man and Woman in Daerim-dong, Seoul

Court: "Risk of Flight and Evidence Tampering"

Two 50s Chinese-Korean Residents Arrested for Killing Man and Woman in Daerim-dong, Seoul

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Two Chinese-Korean men who killed a man and a woman in Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, have been detained.

At 2 p.m. on the 24th, Chief Judge Moon Seong-gwan of the Seoul Southern District Court held a pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant review) for suspects A and B, Chinese-Korean men in their 50s accused of murder, and issued arrest warrants for them.

Judge Moon stated the reason for issuing the arrest warrants was "concerns about flight risk and evidence tampering."

Mr. A is accused of stabbing and killing a middle-aged man and woman with a weapon in an alley in Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, at around 8:10 p.m. the previous day. Mr. A fled immediately after the crime but was apprehended in Guro-dong, Guro-gu. The two victims were found in cardiac arrest and were transported to the hospital while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but they died.

The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul has applied for arrest warrants on the 23rd on suspicion of murder, believing that not only Mr. A but also Mr. B, who was present at the scene, participated in the crime.
