American Man Leaves $1,500 Tip with "Corona Annoyance!" Message and Walks Away

[Asia Economy Reporter Hanah Na] On the 23rd (local time), CNN in the United States reported that a customer who had breakfast at a restaurant in Colorado left a message saying "Corona is annoying!" along with a $1,400 tip (approximately 1.54 million KRW).

According to Nailya Kametvalieva, who runs Notchtop Bakery & Cafe, on the 20th (local time), a customer named David entered the Estes Park restaurant and ate eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, and gravy.

Afterward, David paid for the food he ate and asked the staff how many people were working.

He left a $1,400 tip with instructions to give $200 each to seven restaurant employees and then left.

David lives near the restaurant, but it is reported that he has only visited the restaurant twice.

The staff who saw the receipt said, "We couldn't believe it," and "This $200 is not only for me but also for my husband and children. It will be a great help to our family," expressing their joy.

Kametvalieva said that the restaurant, which has been operating for 10 years, was struggling greatly due to the impact of COVID-19, and expressed gratitude to David for leaving such a large tip in this situation. Kametvalieva said, "The chefs were moved to tears by something they never expected," and added, "We expressed our thanks to him, but it felt like it wasn't enough."
