Gwangju City to Issue Confirmation Certificates for 'Gathering Ban and Business Restriction' Companies Starting from the 25th

Companies Omitted from 'Small Business Support Fund' Payments Are Eligible

Gwangju City to Issue Confirmation Certificates for 'Gathering Ban and Business Restriction' Companies Starting from the 25th

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that starting from the 25th, it will issue the ‘Social Distancing Quarantine Measure Administrative Order Compliance Certificate’ (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Certificate’) for businesses subject to gathering bans or business restrictions that were omitted from the first rapid payment of the ‘Support Fund for Small Business Owners.’

The Certificate to be issued this time can be used as supporting documentation for businesses that received administrative orders for gathering bans or business hour restrictions due to social distancing quarantine measures but only received 1 million KRW during the first rapid payment or were unable to apply at all, in order to apply for ‘confirmation payment.’

The government has been providing the ‘Support Fund for Small Business Owners’ to small business owners struggling due to strengthened social distancing measures since the 11th of this month.

The support targets are businesses that complied with gathering bans or business restrictions issued by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and Gwangju City after November 24 of last year, as well as small business owners with general sales declines. Gathering ban businesses receive 3 million KRW, business restriction businesses receive 2 million KRW, and general businesses receive 1 million KRW.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is receiving lists of gathering ban and business restriction businesses from local governments and distributing support funds. Omitted businesses are scheduled to receive additional payments after verification procedures early next month.

Accordingly, gathering ban and business restriction businesses omitted from the ‘Support Fund for Small Business Owners’ can apply for confirmation payment by obtaining the ‘Certificate.’ Detailed information regarding the ‘Support Fund Confirmation Payment Application’ will be announced later by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

The Certificate issuance targets are small business owners in 8 gathering ban sectors and 12 business restriction sectors who complied with quarantine administrative orders from the government and Gwangju City after November 24 of last year.

Applications for the Certificate issuance can be submitted from the 25th of this month until the 19th of next month. Direct sales promotion centers for sponsored door-to-door sales should apply at City Hall, academies and private institutes at the relevant Education Support Office, and other sectors at the relevant district office.

Detailed application procedures, departments by sector, and application forms can be found on the websites of City Hall, the Education Office, Education Support Offices, and district offices.
