[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Guri City has signed a business agreement and a supplementary agreement with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education for the operation of detailed projects under the 'Innovative Education District Season III.'
The city stated on the 22nd, "This agreement is the third one following those in 2011 and 2016, and it was concluded on the fastest schedule among the 31 innovative education districts designated in Gyeonggi Province as of 2021."
From this year until 2026, the city plans to establish a financial support system to realize creative and future-oriented innovative education unique to Guri City, targeting 30 public and private kindergartens and 32 elementary, middle, and high schools within the jurisdiction.
According to this agreement, the city will support projects to strengthen the innovative education ecosystem through cooperation between schools and communities and to build a future education system reflecting the characteristics of the region.
In particular, to realize seven promotion tasks, a total of 14 detailed projects have been organized, and an annual budget of 2.449 billion KRW will be provided to 21,986 kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students.
The main projects include ▲ Establishing Guri Democratic Citizenship School (Guri Bitkkal School, strengthening autonomy capabilities) ▲ Building Guri Education Governance (training community instructors, innovative education forums, Guri Happiness School, etc.) ▲ Establishing Guri Smart School system, among others.
