Songpa-gu Hosts 'Bang-guseok Winter Camp' for Youth 3D Pen Crafting (2020 Summer Camp)

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will operate the Ontact Youth Vision Classroom Winter Camp four times from the 26th to the 29th to provide a meaningful winter vacation for youth from case-managed vulnerable households.

The district has prepared an online experiential education program for winter vacation to comfort youth from crisis households, whose opportunities for experiential and activity education have been reduced due to COVID-19, and to help them nurture their dreams for the future.

The 'Youth Vision Classroom Winter Camp' will be conducted interactively with experts over four sessions, including ▲a humanities lecture on global warming and 3D pen artwork creation ▲a humanities lecture themed on love for planet Earth and making traditional Yut sticks for Lunar New Year ▲magic experience and presentation with Hong Mi-seon, head of the Educational Magic Research Center and magic therapy instructor ▲learning classical paintings and modern and contemporary art using coloring books.

Additionally, various experience kits such as 3D pens and magic tools will be provided to winter camp participants to enhance lecture concentration and participation.

Furthermore, fruit baskets and lunch coupons will be distributed free of charge to support healthy eating habits.

This Ontact winter camp is expected to contribute to establishing a healthy self-image by providing broad humanities experiences and various creative activity opportunities to youth from crisis households with high stress levels due to school maladjustment and economic problems, improving creativity, social skills, and communication abilities.

The Youth Vision Classroom (Dream High) operation is supported by the Community Chest of Korea and is promoted in connection with the Jamsil Youth Center, operating twice a year (summer camp and winter camp).

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “Last year, we provided welfare services Ontact to vulnerable groups at risk of welfare service suspension due to COVID-19, resulting in very high participation and satisfaction among residents,” and added, “We will continue to discover and expand Songpa’s differentiated support system so that vulnerable youth can establish a healthy self-image and realize their dreams through proper goal setting.”
