[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) is conducting the ‘2021 Gangbuk Youth Challenge Project,’ which provides young people with various opportunities to realize their ideas, and is recruiting participants.
The project is implemented to activate social participation led by the younger generation and to provide opportunities for skill development and self-improvement. The district has allocated a total budget of 45 million KRW for this project and plans to support up to 9 million KRW per selected project.
Applicants must be groups of three or more youths aged 19 to 39 as of the announcement date, residing or active in Gangbuk-gu.
Those wishing to participate should submit the application form and required documents by email (ysys8912@gangbuk.go.kr) by 6 p.m. on February 5.
The themes include ▲ projects usable online in response to the COVID-19 situation ▲ projects that discover youth culture based in the region and activate healthy youth communities ▲ projects focused on improving women’s safety, welfare, and culture ▲ and other innovative ideas to solve various local public issues and youth problems.

Mayor Park Gyeom-su of Gangbuk-gu said, “Participation of those with a challenging spirit is most important to strengthen the capabilities of local youth,” and added, “We will actively support so that the diverse and innovative ideas of the younger generation can bear fruit.”
Last year, through the Youth Challenge Project, the district selected and supported a total of nine projects, including ‘From Thought to Action! Gangbuk Youth Reading Group,’ ‘Youth’s Outside the Blanket Project,’ ‘Healthy Baking One-day Class,’ and ‘Ui Photo Album.’
