1st Floor Features Hyundai Electric Vehicle Charging Station
3rd Floor Includes SK Magic Experience Zone and Shared Kitchen
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] SK Networks announced on the 21st that it will open 'Gildong Chaeum,' Korea's first electric vehicle (EV) exclusive charging station and complex cultural space, in Gildong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul. The site where Gildong Chaeum is located was formerly the Gildong Gas Station, and SK Networks developed a facility with a total floor area of approximately 4,300㎡ (about 1,300 pyeong), consisting of two basement floors and four above-ground floors.
On the first floor of Gildong Chaeum, Korea's first EV-exclusive charging station was established in collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company. This charging station is equipped with eight latest ultra-fast chargers called 'Hi Charger,' and a test drive center operating four eco-friendly vehicles was also set up. Hyundai Motor's EV-exclusive charging station has been conducting pilot services since December last year and officially began full operation from this day.
Additionally, part of the first floor and the second floor house the 'Terarosa' Gildong branch, a domestic coffee brand. Terarosa focused on expressing the theme of 'My (我) Beauty (美)' through geometric abstraction and realistic colors in this seventh branch in Seoul.
The third floor of Gildong Chaeum hosts 'It's Magic,' an SK Magic brand shop. This space includes an experience zone where visitors can directly try products such as water purifiers, air purifiers, and massage chairs, as well as a shared kitchen for private dining. In this space, videos are produced in collaboration with producer (PD) Lee Wook-jung, known as a pioneer of domestic food documentaries, and broadcasted through YouTube and other platforms. Cooking shows featuring famous chefs are also operated. Furthermore, the space is used for SK Magic new product launch shows and collaborations with food and beverage (F&B) brands.
The fourth floor features the Chaeum Lounge, which SK Networks employees can use as a workspace. Employees living nearby or on business trips can use it as a remote office, and the space is also equipped to host lectures and seminars.
SK Networks plans to develop various contents in partnership with Hyundai Motor, SK Magic, Terarosa, and others to establish Gildong Chaeum as a leading lifestyle space in Korea.
An SK Networks official stated, "We are proud to open Korea's first EV-exclusive charging station in a new form in collaboration with Hyundai Motor, while simultaneously introducing Terarosa coffee and the SK Magic brand shop. We will continue to develop Gildong Chaeum as a space that energizes all visitors, including SK Rent-a-Car EV customers, and leads the market and future."
