[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 20th, Park Sam-rye, Chairperson of the Gwangjin District Council, participated in the ‘Expect Local Autonomy’ challenge to support the opening of the Local Autonomy 2.0 era.
‘Expect Local Autonomy’ is a campaign initiated by the Presidential Local Autonomy Committee to commemorate the full-scale launch of the ‘Local Autonomy 2.0 era’ following the passage of the complete revision of the Local Autonomy Act by the National Assembly on December 9. The campaign continues in the form of a challenge, expressing the hope that local autonomy centered on residents, the actual subjects of local self-government, will be realized.
Chairperson Park Sam-rye emphasized the role of local councils that have struggled for the development of local autonomy, pledging, “I will not forget that we are the representative body of the residents and will make Gwangjin District a place where the voices of the residents become policies in the Local Autonomy 2.0 era.”
Meanwhile, Chairperson Park Sam-rye participated in the challenge after being nominated by Park Kyung-hee, Chairperson of the Seodaemun District Council, and nominated Kim An-sook, Chairperson of the Seocho District Council, Eun Seung-hee, Chairperson of the Jungnang District Council, and Yoo Si-moon, Chairperson of the Gurye County Council in Jeollanam-do as the next participants.
