Request to Refrain from Visiting Memorial Halls During Lunar New Year Holidays, Follow Quarantine Guidelines When Visiting
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 20th that it will implement a prior reservation system for visiting the indoor columbarium at Anrak Park, similar to last year's Chuseok, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and block the risk of transmission of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) during the Lunar New Year.
Reservations will be accepted on the city’s website from the 25th to the 31st.
Visitors to the columbarium must reserve the date and time of their visit in advance and comply with quarantine guidelines on the day of the visit to use the facility.
The visitation period is from February 1 to 14, with social distancing measures limiting the maximum number of visitors to five people per household and visits restricted to within 20 minutes.
The facility operating hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a total daily visitor limit of 1,500 people.
Visits outside this period can be made autonomously while adhering to individual quarantine guidelines.
Additionally, from the 18th, the online memorial service provided by the ‘e-Haneul Funeral Information System’ will also be available.
The city plans to inform citizens about the implementation of the prior reservation system through emergency disaster text messages and promotional banners within Anrak Park.
To ensure safe use of the facility, daily disinfection will be conducted before and after use, and measures such as closing the ritual and rest rooms and prohibiting indoor food and drink will be strictly enforced to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
A city official stated, “We ask for your understanding in the unavoidable implementation of the prior reservation system during the Lunar New Year holiday when many visitors gather, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and we urge everyone to comply with personal quarantine guidelines.” He emphasized, “We request that visits be minimized if possible, and if visiting is unavoidable, please practice wise memorial visits by visiting in advance, limiting the number of visitors, and reducing the duration of stay.”
