Jangseong-gun Accepts Applications for 'Farmer and Fisherman Public Interest Allowance' Until the 10th of Next Month

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Dooseok) announced on the 20th that it will accept applications for the ‘2021 Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance’ until the 10th of next month.

The ‘Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance’ support project provides local currency worth a total of 600,000 KRW to farmers and fishermen twice a year (in April and June).

The eligible applicants are business owners in the relevant fields who have continuously operated with an address in the county since before December 31, 2019, and whose agricultural, fishery, or forestry business entities are registered with the county.

Starting this year, family members of public officials and employees of public institutions are also included in the support target. However, the public officials or employees themselves are excluded from eligibility.

Additionally, those who meet any of the following conditions are not eligible: ▲comprehensive income from non-agricultural activities exceeding 37 million KRW ▲fraudulent recipients of subsidies such as direct payments ▲those who have been penalized under the Farmland Act or Mountainous Area Act ▲cases where the eligible business owner for the Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance is living in the household but the household is separately registered.

Applications can be submitted at each eup/myeon administrative welfare center until the 10th of next month.

The county plans to finalize the list of beneficiaries in April after deliberation and resolution by the Public Interest Allowance Committee.

The support funds will be provided in the form of paper or card-type Jangseong Sarang gift certificates.

A county official stated, “We expect that the support for the Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance will not only boost the pride of farmers and fishermen but also invigorate the local economy,” and added, “We encourage many eligible farmers and fishermen to apply.”
