[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Junhyung] After Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, expressed her intention to resign, small business owners gave positive evaluations of her.

The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (KSMB) stated in a commentary on the 20th, "(Minister Park Young-sun) served as the second minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, dedicating herself to laying the foundation of a new industry nation through cooperation between the government and the private sector, large corporations and SMEs, and small business owners," adding, "Through Minister Park's efforts, the status of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has been greatly elevated."

The KSMB said, "The new attempts Minister Park sought to solve the sales channels and promotion problems faced by small business owners became a new source of vitality," and "Above all, Minister Park played a significant role in the passage of the Small Business Basic Act in the National Assembly early last year." They also emphasized, "She listened to the opinions of small business owners struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic and prepared the Small Business New Hope Fund and the Support Fund," adding, "The rapid execution of the Support Fund within 24 hours of application was thanks to the proactive administration of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Minister Park."

Furthermore, the KSMB expressed, "We hope that Minister Park will do her best in any position with passion and interest toward SMEs and small business owners," and requested, "We also hope that the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will firmly establish itself as the main ministry for 7 million small business owners based on the protocol economic principles so that small business owners can fully play their role as an important economic group."
