Sangju City Reduces Rent for 47 Public Facilities... "Cut 91 Million Won Last Year" Sangju City Hall

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Sangju City announced on the 20th that it will reduce rent (usage and lease fees) for tenants residing in city-owned facilities, considering the economic difficulties faced by local small business owners due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, the city reduced rent (including contract extensions) worth approximately 91 million KRW across a total of 48 rental facilities. This year, to provide similar benefits, the Sangju City Shared Property Deliberation Committee will be held next month to finalize detailed criteria.

Currently, the shared properties leased by the city for commercial purposes include 23 locations such as stores and cafes, and 24 locations such as banks and offices. Tenants can apply to the relevant Sangju City department with which they have signed the lease contract, and if rent has already been paid, a refund is possible.

Mayor Kang Young-seok of Sangju City stated, "As COVID-19 continues for a long time, I hope Sangju City will take the lead not only for small business owners but also for revitalizing the local economy, becoming a lever to overcome the current difficulties."
