[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Hanmi Pharm has signed an agreement with MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) procurement solution company Subone to officially distribute the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid antigen test kit 'Hanmi COVID-19 Quick Test' domestically.
Hanmi Pharm announced on the 20th that it signed an exclusive distribution agreement for the Hanmi COVID-19 Quick Test with Subone at Hanmi Pharm's headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 19th. Under this agreement, Hanmi Pharm will exclusively supply the recently launched Hanmi COVID-19 Quick Test to Subone, and Subone will exclusively sell the test kits to general companies in compliance with the government's antigen test kit usage guidelines.
The Hanmi COVID-19 Quick Test is an antigen diagnostic medical device approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO), featuring excellent performance with 90% sensitivity and 96% specificity. It uses a method where a specimen collected from the nasal cavity is dropped onto the kit, utilizing an antigen-antibody binding reaction in which viral antigens in the specimen bind to antibodies embedded in the kit. This allows infection status to be confirmed within 30 minutes. If a test using the Hanmi COVID-19 Quick Test yields a positive result, the final diagnosis will be determined through a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test conducted by health authorities.
Subone operates the largest online-based B2B (business-to-business) e-marketplace in Korea and has established an IT-based procurement system and logistics hub infrastructure. Leveraging the expansion of domestic and international global MRO services, it provides optimized procurement solution services to corporate clients. It sells over one million types of consumables and auxiliary materials necessary for corporate activities, generating annual sales of approximately 4 trillion KRW.
A Hanmi Pharm official explained, "Currently, many companies are focusing on basic in-house quarantine measures such as temperature checks and health questionnaires. The Hanmi COVID-19 Quick Test, which can confirm infection status within 30 minutes, can serve as a means to quickly block group infections within companies and promptly carry out subsequent measures."
Kim Dong-chul, President of Subone, said, "We will continue efforts to actively utilize Subone's B2B network to timely supply rapid antigen test kits to companies so that they can proactively respond to COVID-19 and enhance their competitiveness."
