Record Largest Number of Female Branch Managers Produced, Youngest Branch Manager Appointed at Sales Branch
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] IBK Industrial Bank conducted its regular personnel appointments for the first half of 2021, promoting and transferring a total of 2,340 employees, including 10 regional headquarters chiefs.
This personnel appointment was carried out according to Bank President Yoon Jong-won's personnel philosophy of "fairness and inclusion." IBK highlighted the characteristics of this appointment as "fair personnel," "field-centered personnel," and "inclusive personnel."
First, to ensure "fair personnel," promotions were made for all employees based on performance, ability, and organizational contribution. In particular, for higher positions, following the newly established "Executive and Headquarters Chief Appointment Criteria" introduced last year, three vice presidents were appointed on the 13th, and in this regular appointment, 10 new regional headquarters chiefs were appointed.
Five branch managers who demonstrated outstanding performance in the field were promoted to headquarters chiefs. Lee Sang-jik, branch manager of Uijeongbu Branch, was appointed as Gangdong Regional Headquarters Chief; Hwang In-seon, branch manager of Cheongcheon-dong Branch, as Namjung Regional Headquarters Chief; Lee Jae-sung, branch manager of Siwha Central Branch, as Gyeongdong & Gangwon Regional Headquarters Chief; Gu Sung-min, branch manager of Yangsan Branch, as Busan Regional Headquarters Chief; and Park Eun-soon, branch manager of Hanam Industrial Complex Corporate Finance Branch, as Honam Regional Headquarters Chief.
Five headquarters department heads were also promoted to headquarters chiefs. Yoo Chang-hwan, head of Chungcheong Credit Review Center, was appointed Chungcheong Regional Headquarters Chief; Lee Jang-seop, general affairs department head, as Card Business Headquarters Chief; Kim Il-du, IT Global Development Team Leader, as Chief Information Security Officer; Park Bong-gyu, secretary office chief, as Human Resources Department Head (headquarters chief level); and Cha Jae-young, management department head, as IBK Indonesia Bank Corporation Head.
Additionally, as a "field-centered personnel" approach that considers branches contributing significantly to the bank's performance, promotion opportunities for branch employees were increased. In particular, two branch team leaders who showed excellent performance were appointed as the youngest branch managers, strengthening motivation for performance creation.
Furthermore, as an "inclusive personnel" policy to enhance equal opportunity and diversity, gender imbalance was improved and employees working in remote areas were given preferential treatment. Promotion opportunities for female personnel with verified performance and capabilities were expanded. Among a total of 77 female branch managers, 23 were promoted, marking the highest ratio ever. In terms of scale, this also produced the second-largest number of female promotions in history.
Bank President Yoon Jong-won stated, "We will continue 'fair and inclusive personnel' policies while increasing the objectivity and predictability of personnel appointments," adding, "Based on this regular personnel appointment, we will achieve tangible results in 'innovative management' this year."
