[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The administrative organization overseeing urban development projects in Guri-si, Gyeonggi Province, the 'Urban Development Project Team,' has had its operation period extended by three years.

The city announced on the 19th that "the organizational operation plan, adjusting the period from March 2021 to an extended March 2024, has been approved by Gyeonggi Province."

With the extension of the Urban Development Project Team's operation period, projects such as the 'Han River Riverside Urban Development' and the 'Sanodong e-Commerce Logistics Complex Construction' can proceed without administrative gaps.

The identity of the development project has also been clarified by changing the name from the former 'Urban Strategy Project Team' to the 'Urban Development Project Team,' and the organization and personnel will be partially reinforced from 2 divisions and 6 teams with 30 members to 2 divisions and 7 teams with 31 members.

Additionally, permanent tasks such as urban regeneration have been transferred to other organizations, and the plan now includes the relocation of the Guri Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market linked to the e-commerce logistics complex construction, as well as temporary transportation infrastructure expansion projects.

Mayor Ahn Seung-nam stated, "We will actively promote various projects centered on the project team to enhance the brand value of Guri-si, accelerating the improvement of residents' welfare and the realization of citizens' happiness."

Meanwhile, Guri-si plans to submit an ordinance for organizational restructuring, including the extension of the temporary organization approved by Gyeonggi Province, to the Guri City Council in February. Once the council approves the ordinance, the three-year extension of the Urban Development Project Team's operation will be finalized.
