Professor Jeong Kyung-tae of Dong-Eui University Appointed as the 20th President of the Korean Society for Life Sciences Professor Jeong Kyung-tae, Dong-Eui University.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Professor Jeong Kyung-tae of the Department of Clinical Pathology at Dong-Eui University was recently inaugurated as the 20th president of the Korean Society for Life Sciences. His term is one year, from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021.


The Korean Society for Life Sciences was founded in August 1991 and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. It is operated mainly by four academic divisions: biochemistry and molecular biology, bioactive substances, food science and microbiology, and biomedicine. The society publishes the academic journal "Journal of Life Science" monthly.


President Jeong Kyung-tae said, "The 63rd International Academic Conference to be held in August this year will be conducted as an academic conference commemorating the society's 30th anniversary, reflecting on the driving forces behind the society's growth and establishing a foundation for future development."


He added, "We aim to complete tasks such as editorial regulations based on international journal standards, a fully English website, and online publication updates to lay the groundwork for advancing into an international journal."


Professor Jeong Kyung-tae has served as Dean of the College of Medical and Health Sciences at Dong-Eui University and as head of the Stress and Chaperone Division of the Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology. He has received the Excellent Science and Technology Paper Award presented by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies.
