"An Cheol-soo, Low Possibility of Unification Through Joining the People Power Party"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Na Kyung-won, former member of the People’s Party who declared her candidacy for Seoul mayor, expressed that she is willing to accept a 100% public opinion poll method if it is for unification with Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party.
On the 19th, during an appearance on CBS’s ‘Kim Hyun-jung’s News Show,’ Na said regarding the opposition candidate unification method, "I will accept any method," and added, "It’s fine if Leader Ahn decides." She made this remark in response to a question about whether she could accept a radical method such as a 100% public opinion poll.
Na expressed confidence about her competitiveness in the unification race. In response to the host’s comment that "Leader Ahn is (leading in the public opinion poll)," she said, "That was a while ago," and "We need to conduct the poll again."
Regarding the criticism that her view differs from Kim Jong-in, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, she revealed a different opinion. She said, "Isn’t this the will of the people?" showing her willingness to concede on the candidate unification method. However, she clarified that she is currently a preliminary candidate and expressed her intention to actively engage in unification once she becomes the official candidate.
Additionally, Na expressed gratitude for Leader Ahn’s candidacy, saying, "Thank you for stepping forward," and "I am grateful that many people are showing more interest in our Seoul mayoral election."
Regarding the unification method through Leader Ahn’s entry into the People’s Party, she mentioned, "It seems difficult at this point."
