Gwangjin-gu Operates 'Respiratory Specialized Clinic' to Prepare for Concurrent Outbreaks of COVID-19 and Respiratory Diseases

Separation of Medical Staff and Patient Routes... Non-Face-to-Face Treatment Available for Respiratory Patients

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has established a 'Respiratory Dedicated Clinic' to prepare for the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the simultaneous outbreak of respiratory infectious diseases such as colds and influenza, and began operation from the 19th.

The Respiratory Dedicated Clinic is a facility where the movement paths of medical staff and patients are structurally separated and non-face-to-face consultations are possible, allowing patients with respiratory disease symptoms to receive medical care safely.

In particular, it has the advantage of enabling more active treatment for respiratory patients who are in a medical care gap situation because it is difficult to distinguish COVID-19 based on symptoms alone.

The Respiratory Dedicated Clinic is equipped with negative pressure facilities to prevent infection, and if COVID-19 infection is suspected during treatment, specimen collection can be done in a one-stop process.

Additionally, a non-face-to-face radiography room for respiratory patients and an X-ray image analysis service using artificial intelligence (AI) have been introduced to provide residents with high-quality public medical services.

The Respiratory Dedicated Clinic is located on the first floor of the annex building of Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center and operates every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Residents who wish to receive treatment should make a prior reservation by phone with the Health and Medical Department of Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center to minimize infection between patients before visiting.

District Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “We expect that safe medical services for respiratory disease patients will be possible in the prolonged COVID-19 situation,” and added, “We will promote policies that prevent the spread of COVID-19 and that residents can feel.”
