"“Wear a Mask” Told, 60-Year-Old Man Lies Down Under Bus"

Busan Geumjeong Police Station Arrests Man in the Act for Obstructing Bus Operation

"“Wear a Mask” Told, 60-Year-Old Man Lies Down Under Bus" Busan Geumjeong Police Station.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A man in his 60s who resisted a bus driver's request to wear a mask and crawled under the bus to disrupt its operation was caught by the police.

According to the Geumjeong Police Station in Busan, at around 6:50 p.m. on the 15th in Seodong, Geumjeong-gu, Mr. A, who was on bus number 189, was talking on the phone without properly wearing a mask.

The bus driver asked Mr. A to wear a mask, and the passengers on the bus also agreed and demanded mask-wearing. Instead of wearing a mask, Mr. A verbally abused the bus driver and passengers.

When the bus stopped at the next stop, he got off the bus and caused a disturbance by putting his lower body under the rear door, obstructing the operation.

Eventually, Mr. A was urgently arrested on the spot by the police who responded to a 112 emergency call. The Geumjeong Police Station is investigating Mr. A on charges including obstruction of business.

A police official stated, "Wearing a mask is mandatory when using public transportation, and we will respond strictly to acts of not wearing masks, violence against drivers, and obstruction of operation on public transportation used by many people."
