Yeosu City Provides Annual 200,000 KRW Happiness Voucher to Female Farmers and Fisherwomen

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 18th that it will promote the ‘Women Farmers and Fishermen Happiness Voucher Support Project’ to improve the quality of life by providing cultural activity opportunities to female farmers and fishermen in rural areas with poor cultural conditions.

According to the city, it plans to issue happiness voucher cards worth 200,000 KRW per year (with a 20,000 KRW self-payment) to about 4,100 female farmers and fishermen in the jurisdiction, with a budget of 820 million KRW.

The support targets are female farmers and fishermen aged 20 to under 75 who have resided in Jeollanam-do for more than one year and are actively engaged in farming or fishing. Eligibility can be confirmed through registration of agricultural, fishery, or forestry management entities, farming support documents, or fishery-related permits.

Applications can be submitted by visiting the resident center in the applicant’s local eup, myeon, or dong by the 26th of next month.

However, those with business registration, full-time occupations, or beneficiaries of similar welfare services under other laws (such as Cultural Nuri Card recipients) are excluded.

The happiness voucher card can be used in all industries except those typically excluded from subsidy cards, such as entertainment establishments, and any unused balance will be forfeited after December 31 of this year.

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Yeosu City Agricultural Policy Division.

A city official stated, “By providing happiness voucher cards to female farmers and fishermen in rural areas with poor cultural conditions, we are offering better opportunities to enjoy rural cultural benefits,” and urged, “All eligible female farmers and fishermen should be sure to apply within the deadline.”
