[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A civic group has accused the president of Pusan National University of dereliction of duty for not canceling the admission of Cho Min, the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and Professor Jung Kyung-shim of Dongyang University, to the Pusan National University Graduate School of Medicine.

The Action Alliance for Establishing the Rule of Law (Beopse-ryeon) held a press conference in front of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office on the 18th and announced that it would file charges against Pusan National University President Cha Jeong-in for dereliction of duty.

Beopse-ryeon stated, "According to the '2015 Admission Guidelines for Pusan National University Graduate School of Medicine,' if it is found that admission was obtained through fraudulent means, the admission shall be canceled, and even after graduation, the academic record shall be erased." They added, "Since it has been confirmed in court that Cho falsified her personal statement and forged documents, President Cha should cancel Cho's admission according to the admission guidelines. His refusal to do so without justifiable reason is clearly a dereliction of duty."

Meanwhile, Cho, who was admitted to Pusan National University Graduate School of Medicine in 2015, is reported to have recently passed the national medical licensing examination.
