Applications Accepted Until the 17th of Next Month, Recruiting 3 Elementary Schools Located in City and County Districts
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongnam Province and Gyeongnam Office of Education are holding a contest for the '2021 Gyeongnam Small School Revitalization Project' to promote coexistence among schools at risk of extinction.
The 'Small School Revitalization Project' was the first integrated administrative initiative nationwide last year, jointly promoted by the province, the Office of Education, and city and county governments.
Especially this year, the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) is also participating, which is expected to increase the supply of rental housing.
Cities and counties wishing to apply for the project must submit the relevant documents to the Gyeongnam Province Integrated Education Promotion Team by the 17th of next month.
The Office of Education and schools provide an educational environment that can grow through educational activities leveraging the strengths unique to small schools, operation of distinctive curricula linked with the local community, and school space innovation.
The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) supports residential welfare services around small schools in township areas of rural regions by constructing and supplying purchased rental housing to provide housing for relocating families.
The province and the Office of Education will form a separate screening committee to review applications and plan to announce the results around the end of February.
