Gyeongnam Province Mushroom Substrate Management Center Project Selected in Public Competition

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongnam Province has been selected in the public contest for the 'Mushroom Substrate Management Center Project' promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

The province was chosen in the field of establishing a post-harvest substrate recycling center to recycle waste substrate generated after mushroom harvesting.

The project will be carried out with a total budget of 3 billion KRW, including 1.5 billion KRW in national funds, 900 million KRW in local funds, and 600 million KRW from the private sector by 2022.

The waste substrate will be supplied as raw materials for feed or fertilizer at the 'Mushroom Harvest Post-Substrate Recycling Center.'

The selected project site is Hapcheon, the top Hanwoo cattle production area in Gyeongnam.

Through this, it is expected to improve the quality stability of livestock feed raw materials and reduce management costs for agricultural and livestock farms.
