Emart24 Hosts Giveaway Event for New Year Dieters

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Last year, the number of customers purchasing products that help with dieting at convenience stores significantly increased.

On the 18th, Emart24 analyzed last year's sales of diet-related products and found that bananas increased by 107.6%, protein bars by 84.8%, ready-to-eat salads by 56%, and chicken breast by 40.3% compared to the previous year. In particular, sales of protein drinks containing protein grew ninefold from 2019 to 2020.

In response to the increasing trend in sales of diet-related products, Emart24 is conducting a bonus gift event on a total of 19 items, including 9 types of ready-to-eat salads, until the end of January.

When purchasing 9 types of Samlip ready-to-eat salads such as Quinoa Basil Salad and Egg First Chicken Mini Salad, customers will receive a bottle of Haru-e Water (500ml) as a gift. When purchasing two types of crab stick products that go well with salads, such as Sajo Snow Crab King (140g) and Lobster King (128g), or Sangha half-boiled eggs (2 pieces), customers will receive Maeil 99.89 Soy Milk (190ml) as a bonus.

Customers who purchase 3 types of Harim chicken breast (Garlic and Black Pepper 110g, Smoked Chicken Breast 100g) and Samlip Chicken Breast Frank (70g) will also receive Maeil 99.89 Soy Milk (190ml) as a bonus.

Three products including Harim Chicken Breast Sausage Spicy Chicken (120g), Dr. You Protein Bar (50g), and Lotte Ultra Protein Bar (40g) are available with a 2+1 purchase offer.

Until the end of January, a mobile app stamp event is also being held. Emart24 plans to give away health spinning bikes (10 winners), electric massage guns (20 winners), weight steppers (50 winners), and 1,000 KRW coupons (100 winners) through a lottery for customers who collect 3 stamps after purchasing a total of 7 products including 3 types of Harim chicken breast.

Stamps are earned by scanning the integrated barcode of the product on the Emart24 mobile app, with one stamp per product purchased. The mobile app stamp event allows multiple entries.

Lee Dong-ho, head of Emart24's Strategic Marketing Team, said, "Due to lifestyle changes such as working from home and online classes last year, the time spent at home increased, making dieting a daily routine. As the demand for diet-related products is expected to remain steady due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we plan to continuously conduct promotions that can increase customer benefits."

Meanwhile, Emart24 is collaborating with the mobile health management platform WalkOn to conduct a non-face-to-face walking challenge throughout January. This challenge includes walking 50,000 steps and walking at famous spots nationwide, and anyone can easily participate by accessing the WalkOn mobile app.
