This evaluation was conducted to improve the collection rate of local non-tax revenue, and 243 local governments nationwide were divided into 13 groups with similar population and finances, selecting one best and one excellent institution per group.
Buk-gu was classified in the autonomous district group and was selected as the best district among autonomous districts nationwide, receiving an institutional commendation and a financial incentive of 40 million won.
In particular, efforts to improve the collection rate, such as forming a dedicated non-tax revenue team, holding collection reporting meetings, and conducting training for practitioners, led to a favorable evaluation.
Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu, said, “We will continue to make greater efforts to improve the collection rate of non-tax revenue, which plays an important role in local finances. In addition, we will actively implement support measures such as collection deferral, deadline extension, and installment payments for residents who are experiencing difficulties due to COVID-19.”
