According to Gwangju City on the 17th, as of 2 p.m. that day, six people were confirmed positive and classified as Gwangju cases 1434 to 1439.
Gwangju 1434, a resident of Gwangsan-gu, is a contact of Gwangju 1428 and a secondary infection related to Gwangju 1390, which is the infection route of Gwangju 1428. The infection route of Gwangju 1390 has not been identified.
The infection route of Gwangju 1435 is under investigation.
Gwangju 1436 is a confirmed case related to Jeonnam 654.
Gwangju 1437 and 1438 are confirmed cases related to Gwangju 1426, who was confirmed positive the previous day. Although the exact infection route of Gwangju 1426 is not yet known, health authorities have identified a connection to an electrical equipment company.
An in-depth epidemiological investigation will be conducted on this company.
The total number of confirmed cases related to Gwangju 1426 has reached five, including two cases (Gwangju 1429 and 1432) confirmed the previous day.
Gwangju 1439 is understood to have had contact with Jeonnam 650, who is associated with Yeongam Gwaneumsa Temple.
In Gwangju, 76 cases are related to Evergreen Nursing Hospital, 146 to Hyojeong Nursing Hospital, 74 to Gwangju Cheongsa Church, 67 to BTJ Yeolbang Center, 15 to Gwangju 1235 (Yangdong Express Hardware), and 14 to Jungang Hospital.
An additional on-site investigation was conducted at Jungang Hospital, where new cases were confirmed the previous day. Two confirmed patients are scheduled to be transferred, and education for staff has also been conducted.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gwangju area has increased to 1,439.
