[Breaking] 124 Confirmed Cases from Anonymous Tests at Temporary Testing Sites in the Seoul Metropolitan Area... 35% of Metropolitan Area Cases

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] A total of 124 new confirmed cases were identified at temporary screening clinics operating in the Seoul metropolitan area.

According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) on the 17th, 16,812 people were tested at 144 temporary screening clinics in the metropolitan area the previous day, resulting in this outcome.

This accounts for 24.8% of the total 500 locally transmitted cases nationwide and 35.4% of the 350 locally transmitted cases in the metropolitan area as of midnight that day.

One out of every three locally transmitted cases in the metropolitan area was confirmed positive after visiting a temporary clinic while asymptomatic or with mild symptoms, without known contact with a confirmed case.

By region, there were 52 cases in Seoul, 66 in Gyeonggi, and 6 in Incheon.
