Gurye-gun Strengthens On-site Inspections to Prevent COVID-19 Spread

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] On the 16th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it is conducting on-site inspections in cooperation with the police at major facilities including multi-use facilities within Gurye-gun until the 17th, following the extension of social distancing level 2.

This inspection team consists of 8 members in 4 teams (4 from Gurye-gun, 4 from the police) to prevent the spread of COVID-19, due to continuous confirmed cases caused by recent cluster infections in religious groups (BTJ Yeolbam Center and Jinju International Prayer Center, etc.) and attendance at prayer centers and revival meetings in other regions.

In particular, strengthened inspections are being conducted on 766 general management facilities such as entertainment and karaoke bars, general restaurants, lodging businesses, beauty salons, PC rooms, and unregistered religious facilities to check compliance with quarantine guidelines.

The inspection items include △ checking the temperature of facility visitors and keeping a log △ compliance with business hours and business types △ whether religious facilities conduct non-face-to-face worship services △ overall compliance with COVID-19 prevention rules such as wearing masks.

Kim Soon-ho, the county governor, stated, “We will do our best to prevent additional confirmed cases by regularly focusing inspections on multi-use facilities to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the county.”

Going forward, the county plans to continue proactive testing and on-site inspections in cooperation with the health care center and will do its best in prevention and promotion until COVID-19 is eradicated.
