Discovered 80 New Projects Linked to Government Policies with a Total Budget of 2.4908 Trillion KRW

County Governor Song Guigeun Emphasizes the Need to Develop Detailed Persuasive Arguments for New Projects

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung County, Jeollanam-do, put their heads together to discover new projects for securing the 2022 government budget in order to achieve the goal of entering the 1 trillion won budget era by the end of the 7th local government term.

According to Goheung County on the 16th, a new project discovery report meeting for requesting national treasury support for 2022 was held on the 15th at Heungyang Hall in the county office, presided over by County Governor Song Gwigeun, with all department heads attending.

At the meeting, each department head gave detailed reports and discussions on the newly discovered projects from their departments in the order of project overview, necessity, expected issues, and requests.

The total number of newly discovered projects for national treasury requests next year is 80, with a total project cost of 2.4908 trillion won, of which the requested national budget for next year is 69.1 billion won.

The newly discovered projects this time were focused on regional advantage urgent projects and local residents’ long-awaited projects linked to the government and Jeollanam-do policy directions such as the ‘Korean New Deal and Jeonnam-type Blue Economy.’

Major new projects include △ Establishment of a smart horticulture specialized complex (5 billion won) △ Construction of research equipment for future flying vehicle operability and demonstration tests (30 billion won) △ Restoration of Songsancheon ecological stream (20 billion won) △ Facility improvement of National Road No. 77 from Yeongnam to Podu (71.7 billion won) △ Maintenance of aging sewage pipelines (11 billion won) △ Construction of Goheung County Memorial Park (7.8 billion won) △ Creation of Goheung Bonghwangsan Dulle-gil trail (1.5 billion won), etc.

In addition, Goheung County plans to continuously discover and request projects until May, when the 2022 government budget proposal moves from central ministries to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Governor Song Gwigeun said, “It is difficult to secure national budget without project feasibility and persuasive logic,” and urged, “Please supplement more meticulous persuasive logic for the already discovered new projects and additionally discover and request large-scale projects for the mid- to long-term development of future Goheung.”

He added, “Let us all make our best efforts to secure national and provincial funds for 2022 by responding systematically and strategically, making full use of the hometown affection human network of central ministries and Jeollanam-do officials.”

Meanwhile, Goheung County secured 172.2 billion won in government budget requests for 2021, an increase of 6.3% (10.2 billion won) compared to the previous year, and since the launch of the 7th local government, it has been focusing all administrative power on visualizing government achievements and enhancing the completeness of pending projects so that all residents can feel the results.
