Newborn Found Dead Naked in Front of Villa Amid Cold Wave... 20s Mother Arrested

[Asia Economy Reporter Nana] On a day when a cold wave advisory was issued, a newborn baby, whose umbilical cord had not yet been cut, was found dead in front of a villa complex, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

According to the Ilsan Western Police Station in Gyeonggi Province, at around 1 p.m. on the 16th, a resident discovered a newborn girl dead between buildings in a villa complex in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang City, and reported it to the authorities.

The deceased newborn was found with the umbilical cord still attached and was reportedly naked and frozen.

On that day, a cold wave advisory had been issued for the Goyang area due to the cold weather.

The police tracked down a suspect and arrested a woman in her 20s, identified as Ms. A, who lives in the villa complex.

The police plan to investigate Ms. A thoroughly regarding the timing of the baby's birth and death, as well as the reasons for abandonment.

Additionally, to determine the exact cause of death, the police intend to request an autopsy of the deceased baby from the National Forensic Service.
