Woman Swept Away by Rapids While Taking Selfie in Front of Famous Indian Waterfall

[Asia Economy Reporter Hana Na] A female tourist who was taking a selfie right in front of a famous waterfall in India was swept away by the rapid current and drowned, and the incident was captured by another tourist.

According to the New York Post on the 15th, a young woman named Nirupama Prajapati visited a famous waterfall tourist spot in Odisha, eastern India, with her friends on the 3rd.

In the video, the woman is seen holding her phone and continuously taking selfies at the edge just above the rapid current where the waterfall falls. While other tourists were outside the rapid current, she was standing inside it.

At that moment, a man behind her who was taking a selfie slipped and slightly bumped into her, causing her to immediately lose balance and be swept into the rapid current in the water in an instant.

The river was not deep, but the current was so strong that no one could stop her from being swept away by the river.

After 22 hours of search operations by the rescue team, the body was found deep in a crevice of rocks about 400 meters away from the accident site.
