[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samsung Electronics has started pre-orders for its 'Galaxy S21' series. The official release date is the 29th.
On the 15th, Samsung Electronics announced that pre-orders will be accepted until the 21st, and pre-activation will begin on the 22nd. Pre-orders can be made at Digital Plaza stores nationwide, online and offline stores of each carrier, Samsung Electronics' official website, and open markets such as Coupang and Gmarket. Purchases can also be made during the 11st live commerce broadcast at 11 a.m. on the 15th.
The Galaxy S21 features a design where the smartphone body, metal frame, and camera are seamlessly connected, and it is equipped with the most powerful chipset ever used in a Galaxy device. The Galaxy S21 (6.2 inches) is priced at 999,000 KRW, about 240,000 KRW cheaper than its predecessor. It is the first 5G flagship smartphone to be released under 1 million KRW. The colors available are Phantom Gray, White, Violet, and Pink. The Galaxy S21+ (6.7 inches) has similar specifications to the S21 but features a larger screen and battery capacity, and comes in Phantom Black, Silver, Violet, and Pink. It is priced at 1,199,000 KRW. The Galaxy S21 Ultra (6.8 inches) is available in Phantom Black and Silver. Prices are ▲ 1,452,000 KRW for the 12GB RAM/256GB internal memory model ▲ 1,599,400 KRW for the 16GB RAM/512GB internal memory model.
Samsung Electronics will offer a limited sale of custom color unlocked models on Samsung.com starting the 15th. The rear camera features a patterned design, and the colors are Phantom Brown, Navy, and Titanium. This model has 16GB RAM and 512GB internal memory, priced at 1,599,400 KRW, the same as the regular Ultra model.
If you activate your device by the 28th after pre-ordering, various gifts will be provided. The Galaxy S21 Ultra model gifts include the new wireless earphones 'Galaxy Buds Pro', a silicone cover, and an S Pen. For the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ pre-orders, 'Galaxy Buds Live' and the location-tracking accessory 'Galaxy SmartTag' are provided. Additionally, all pre-order customers receive a 50% discount coupon for the 'Galaxy Watch3' and 'Galaxy Watch Active2'. Gifts can be claimed through the Samsung Members app or the event page.
Samsung Electronics is also operating a trade-in program for Galaxy S21 buyers until March 31. Customers can receive additional compensation on top of the used phone market price when returning their old phones. This program is available even when purchasing through Samsung.com.
The 'Galaxy To Go' service, which allows users to borrow a Galaxy S21 for three days, will also be available starting the 16th. Over 200 Samsung Digital Plaza locations nationwide offer free product rentals without conditions. The Galaxy To Go service is a voluntary experience program that includes push notifications about features, photo contests, game tournaments, and various other programs during the rental period. After experiencing Galaxy To Go, customers who purchase a Galaxy S21 and apply for gifts will receive a 'Samsung Wireless Charger Duo'. Additionally, the Galaxy S21 can be experienced at Digital Plaza stores nationwide, carrier stores, Lotte Avenue Crown Plaza, and the Galaxy S21 online experience zone.
The 'Galaxy Stage', introducing the Galaxy S21 with various content, will also be launched for the first time. It features diverse programs such as the 'Galaxy Fan Party' celebrating the new product launch with fans, and the live quiz show 'Galla Show' with celebrities from various fields in Korea. The first 'Galaxy Stage' entertainment episode on the 16th will include the 'YuPengDoIt' video featuring Yoo Jae-suk and Pengsoo, and a quiz show hosted by Kim Tae-jin, Park Myung-soo, and YouTuber Seoulrian. Subsequent episodes will cover music (19th), fashion (22nd), and art & film (28th).
