Cancellation of Reserve Forces Training in the First Half of This Year Due to COVID-19 In the event of war, local reservists in their 5th to 8th year will gather at a location designated by the district office and then carry out their duties.


[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter]The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 15th that it will postpone the reserve forces mobilization training originally scheduled to begin on March 2.


The Ministry explained that the reserve forces mobilization training will not be conducted in the first half of the year considering public health safety and the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus infection) situation, and has decided to postpone it to the second half. However, the exact timing for resuming in the second half remains uncertain at this time.


The Ministry of National Defense stated, "The start date and training plan for the reserve forces mobilization training postponed to the second half will be decided and announced at least 45 days before the commencement of the training."
