On the 15th, Samsung Electronics launched the new fully automatic washing machine with the largest capacity in Korea, the 'Grande Tongbubble,' in the domestic market.
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Samsung Electronics is introducing the fully automatic washing machine 'Grande Tongbubble' with enhanced washing power and hygiene functions, along with new compact washing machine models.
On the 15th, Samsung Electronics announced the launch of the Grande Tongbubble, a large-capacity washing machine with a capacity of 16 to 23 kg that can wash a large amount of laundry at once, in the domestic market. The 23 kg model is the largest capacity among fully automatic washing machines sold in Korea.
Samsung Electronics expanded the bubble washing technology, which has been highly praised when applied to drum washing machines, to the new fully automatic washing machine models. The bubble washing applied to the Grande Tongbubble maximizes the cleaning power of liquid detergent through a patented bubble kit that generates a bubble waterfall. The bubble kit rotates a propeller using the water pressure supplied to the detergent compartment, mixing water, detergent, and air well to create abundant bubbles. These bubbles fall like a waterfall onto the laundry in the drum and are quickly absorbed.
Instead of filling water all at once, the 'Power Wash+' course applies water step-by-step to wash with a high concentration of detergent solution, focusing on removing stubborn stains. Additionally, the '3D Whirlwind Water Flow' realized with a dual DD (Direct Drive) motor and 12 three-dimensional blades, and the powerful water jet 'Jet Shot' thoroughly rinse the laundry, enabling a quick wash cycle of just 31 minutes.
Hygiene-related technologies have also been enhanced. The stainless steel 'Double Safety Filter' is designed to filter dust and lint from both sides of the filter, effectively collecting dust even with the dynamic water flow of a fully automatic washing machine. It is well ventilated and opens 180 degrees, making it easy to clean or dry the filter. Furthermore, the '60℃ Sterilization Wash' course removes over 99.9% of harmful bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using high-temperature water at 60℃. The 'Detergent-Free Tub Clean' course allows easy periodic maintenance of the washing tub without using special detergent.
The control panel is located on the back of the product, reducing the difficulty of taking out laundry, and its slanted design allows comfortable operation without bending over.
The Samsung Electronics Grande Tongbubble washing machine is available in four capacities (23kg, 21kg, 19kg, 16kg) and three colors: Black Caviar, Lavender Gray, and White. The retail price ranges from 729,000 KRW to 1,099,000 KRW depending on capacity and color.
A Samsung Electronics model is introducing a new compact washing machine at Suwon Samsung Digital City.
Samsung Electronics, noting the increase in consumers who use boiling wash functions for garment hygiene management or frequently wash small amounts of laundry, is also launching two models of compact washing machines with a 3 kg capacity.
These include the new model of the steady seller 'Agasarang' washing machine, which has maintained steady popularity for nearly 20 years since its first release in 2002, and the 'Sterilization Compact Washing Machine,' suitable for use by the whole family.
These products offer various settings to manage laundry according to the situation, including ▲ '90℃ Boiling Wash' for cleaner washing at high temperatures, ▲ '70℃ Sterilization Wash' for general fabric sterilization, and ▲ '40℃ Hygiene Wash' and 'Baby Clothes' courses optimized for washing baby clothes and underwear.
The Agasarang washing machine is available in Greige, and the Sterilization Compact Washing Machine comes in Black Caviar color, both priced at 579,000 KRW.
