CareLabs Goodoc Launches Korea's First COVID-19 Vaccine Passport Service 'GoodocPass'

CareLabs Goodoc Launches Korea's First COVID-19 Vaccine Passport Service 'GoodocPass' Korea's No.1 non-face-to-face medical service platform, 'Goodoc', introduces the country's first COVID-19 vaccine passport service, 'Goodoc Pass'.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Carelabs’ wholly owned subsidiary Goodoc announced on the 15th that it will launch the country’s first mobile passport service, ‘Goodoc Pass,’ which verifies COVID-19 vaccination status.

‘Goodoc Pass’ is a healthcare service that will provide an official digital certificate in the form of a QR code once the government updates the certificate issued to COVID-19 vaccine recipients. Users can register their immunity information against COVID-19 in the app and conveniently use the issued digital certificate in daily life, such as for international travel and entry to performance venues. ‘Goodoc Pass’ is scheduled to be officially launched next month through Goodoc, the country’s No. 1 non-face-to-face medical service platform.

According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, COVID-19 vaccinations in Korea will begin sequentially from February and will be expanded to the entire population starting in September. The company expects that since ‘Goodoc Pass’ is the first domestic service to prove COVID-19 vaccination status, it will have a more efficient impact on various quarantine policies such as entry restrictions and quarantine measures.

Park Kyungdeuk, CEO of Goodoc, said, “Following the ‘Mask Scanner’ service introduced in March to inform public mask stock quantities, ‘Goodoc Pass’ will also become a model case of public-private cooperation utilizing public data. In particular, the vaccine passport service ‘Goodoc Pass,’ which verifies COVID-19 vaccination status, has recently attracted high interest in the global healthcare market, and its practical application range is expected to expand further in the future.”

Meanwhile, the Commons Project, a nonprofit organization in Geneva, Switzerland, recently announced that it is developing ‘CommonPass,’ a type of vaccine passport, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF). Global IT company IBM also officially acknowledged interest in vaccine passports by developing the ‘Digital Health Pass’ app equipped with vaccine passport functionality.
