[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Kim Sang-kyo, the first whistleblower of the Burning Sun scandal, publicly pressured Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon to testify about the Burning Sun incident, but Hyoyeon herself has stated that the claims are unfounded.
On the 14th, Hyoyeon posted on Instagram, saying, "Everyone, please calm down. Since I stayed quiet, I guess people thought I was a pushover. During the Burning Sun incident, I was just doing my job diligently," adding, "I greeted many people, had a drink with friends and staff who came to celebrate the performance, enjoyed some samgyeopsal to sober up, and then went home."
She continued, "While I might have seen men and women at clubs trying to flirt with drooling, I have never seen or heard of actresses, actors, cats, or dogs drooling."
She added, "I will delete this post tomorrow. It's not because I'm scared. If I don't speak up, I become a pushover."
Hyoyeon's agency, SM Entertainment, also stated, "Hyoyeon was only invited to perform as a DJ at the time and is completely unrelated to the mentioned post. We ask that you refrain from speculation and misunderstandings."
Earlier, on the 13th, Mr. Kim posted on his Instagram account targeting Hyoyeon in connection with the Burning Sun incident.
Kim wrote, "Who was the actress drooling from drugs that day, to the extent that the police at Yeoksam District Station couldn't even enter the club? The VVIPs that day must have seen everything. Hyoyeon."
He continued, "Was the actress on drugs that day H or G? You must know if the person who assaulted me inside the club while I was drugged was Seungri's friend, that drug addict," adding, "Why did Jang Won-yong assault me instead of the VIP? Who is the NASA fam involved with the Bitcoin private equity fund?"
He further said, "Even now, they must be hiding in some house, smoking weed (slang for marijuana), taking drugs, and filming videos. The opportunity is running out. Seungri, son of Gwangju, I am just waiting for your discharge day," emphasizing, "I have all your names in my notebook. From now on, you can choose whether to confess one by one, apologize, and be forgiven, or be tormented by me for life."
Hyoyeon performed as a DJ at Burning Sun on November 23, 2018, the day before the Burning Sun incident.
Mr. Kim was a victim of an assault incident that occurred at the Burning Sun club in Gangnam, Seoul, in November 2018, and is the figure who triggered the Burning Sun scandal.
